2017
Capturing Hearts Castings was founded in 2018, prior to this Colwynn Phillips- founder and owner, trained to complete Body Casting Training, at the prestigious Edinburgh Casting Studio in 2017. Her initial spark of interest soon blossomed into a deep passion for this particular art form.
2018
Capturing Hearts Castings was founded in 2018 by Colwynn Phillips and the support of her husband, Stephen.
Before training to cast, Colwynn qualified as a nurse in 2005 in the intensive care unit. Colwynn, having witnessed the profound impact of grief in her nursing career, felt as if she could offer more to help support people who are grieving. Casting offers a significant and lasting connection to our loved ones, which is the idea that Capturing Hearts Castings is borne out of.
Fast Forward To - 2024
Capturing Hearts Castings has been thriving for six years and is one of the only Casting companies in and around Oxfordshire. Regularly collaborating with the charity, Heart Heroes to offer Bereavement Castings to families affected by heart conditions. Each casting is not just an artistic expression but a valuable life moment.
Colwynn lives in Oxford with her husband, 4 children and dog, where she continues to practise nursing and casting.
