Casting FAQs: How long does it take?
The casting itself can take from 5-45 minutes. Allow 2 hours for the entire appointment.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
We need at least 48 hours notice to cancel a Casting Appointment, otherwise we may have to take a fee.

Can I bring someone to my appointment?
Yes, that’s absolutely fine.
What shall I wear to the appointment?
Wear loose clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Avoid clothing that leaves indents on your skin, as it may affect the casting process.
Can you cast jewellery?
Yes, it displays beautifully on the finished piece. The alginate does not cause any damage.
Does the casting pull hair?
It shouldn’t cause any discomfort, but if there is worry then we suggest clipping it shorter before the appointment.

Is it possible to schedule an urgent appointment for my loved one who is in end-of-life care?
Yes, absolutely. We aim to respond to your queries as soon as possible and try our best to prioritise Bereavement Castings. Our Consultation with you can be in the same sitting.
Where can Castings be arranged?
A variety of locations- hospice, hospital, funeral home, your own home or our accommodation.
Will it cause any pain or discomfort to my loved one?
Not at all, we recommend trimming any long hair before we cast.
How soon after passing does the casting need to be done?
The casting should be done as promptly as possible once arrangements suit our clients.
